Marvel's Spider
Pre-load details for the upcoming PlayStation exclusive Marvel's Spider-Man 2 are here and it spells great news for the fans.
Pre-load details for the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are here as players will be able to download the game on Friday, October 13 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST. This almost a week before Spider-Man 2 launches exclusively for PlayStation 5.
Spider-Man 2 is the third titles in Insomniac’s series about the web-slinger’s adventures, after Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This is also one of PlayStation’s first PlayStation 5 exclusive titles, which indicates that Sony could be gearing up to bid adieu to the PlayStation 4. Fans weren't really happy with the length of Miles Morales, but hopefully that won't be the case with Spider-Man 2.

As reported by Twisted Voxel, the pre-load details for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 have been revealed via a pre-ordered digital copy of the game which says that the expected auto-download date for the digital version is October 13, 2023. Additionally, the pre-load will also include an update that will be required to run the game on launch day, which players with the disc version will have to install at launch. Furthermore, there could also be an additional Day 1 patch, which could be an additional update for players to install.
The file size for Spider-Man 2 isn’t available yet but players are hoping for it to be under 100 GB as the physical version of the game only comes with one disc. However, considering the game is purely made for the PS5, this might not be the case as the visual and gameplay upgrades might take up more space. Additionally, the map size of Spider-Man 2 is reportedly twice that of its predecessor, which further reinforces the idea of it being over 100 GB in size.
Of all the new features coming to the game, the character switching in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 seems to be the most exciting. Game director Bryan Intihar revealed that while there are specific story and side missions for both Miles and Peter, players will be able to manually switch between the two during world exploration as well. Additionally, this will also tie into the 3 skill trees in the game, where there will be two individual skill trees and a shared one as well. The game also features Peter Parker in the Symbiote suit, which might also get its own upgrades until the symbiote moves on to its Venom host, which players believe is going to be Harry Osborn.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
